Canada Day in L'Anse au Clair is a unique blend of celebration and remembrance. While the rest of the country marks July 1st with festivities, here, we begin the day with solemn reflection for Memorial Day, honoring the brave members of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment who fought at Beaumont-Hamel in 1916.
In the morning, many attend ceremonies to pay tribute to those who served. As the day progresses, the mood shifts to celebration—music fills the air, community events bring people together, and the smell of barbecues.
Canada Day in Newfoundland and Labrador is a time to reflect, remember, and rejoice.
Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦🍁
